Interesting facts,Easter eggs and cut-out content in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

Cut content

  • The game says that the Shooter's partner, Fang, bought special lighting devices from diggers. However, it does not say why. It is believed that the Strelka group was going to go through the dungeons of Pripyat. The location was indeed planned, but was eventually cut out of the game.
  • After passing Limansk, before moving to an Abandoned hospital, Lebedev informs us that the vanguard of Clear Sky will have to go to the Dungeons of Pripyat. This suggests that the location of the "Dungeons of Pripyat" was cut out in the late stages of the game's development.[1]
  • At the beginning of the game, when we are caught in an outburst, GG gets the task to "Return to base". Indeed, in the game it was planned that the Scar itself would make its way under the ejection to the base of the Clear Sky. However, before the release, this quest was cut out, and the task itself is immediately marked as canceled.
  • A scene was planned in the swamps with an attack by a swamp creature on a Clear Sky squad. However, in the release it is played only occasionally near the pumping station. When a group of renegades passes by from the ruins of the village, a scene similar to the scene at the Agricultural Research Institute is played.

                                                  Interesting facts

  • The introductory video shows how the Scar accompanies the scientists, the whole group is covered with an outburst, and as a result, the Scar loses its "Screw Cutter". This "Screw cutter" can be found in the northern part of the "Swamp" location, just remember what the area looked like on the video.[2] As can be seen from the same opening video, Scar was wearing a leather raincoat. However, when he regains consciousness already at the base of the "Clear Sky", he is wearing a leather jacket.
  • On the basis of the group "Clear Sky" on the shelf (as game content) in Lebedev's bedroom there is a bayonet knife from AK-74, which does not appear anywhere in the game in the form of a weapon.
  • The city of Limansk was created based on the real neighborhoods of Kiev, which were built after the war by captured Germans. The largest of them is located near the Chernihiv metro station. Also, there is a similar building on Ivan Lepse Boulevard, where the GSC office is located.
  • In the Shadows of Chernobyl, the Ghost reports that Fang was shot by a mercenary with a "Screw Cutter" and a scar on his face. It is believed that this is the main character of the game — the Scar. However, there is one discrepancy: the commander of the "Clear Sky", Lebedev, says that he will send his guys to remove Fang and Ghost, and sends Scar in pursuit of the Shooter through Limansk. He also says, "We can handle these two on our own." It was confirmed by the developers that the Scar was supposed to kill Fang, but later this episode was cut
  • In Military warehouses, in the village of Bloodsuckers, inside a water tower, in a Clear Sky, there is an iron staircase, simply welded to the wall. And in the Shadows of Chernobyl, the staircase is spiral, with spans. It is impossible to explain such a drastic difference, it remains only to assume that the guys from Svoboda removed the old ladder and made a new one to make it easier to climb up.
  • On the ATP, above the arch, in the Shadows of Chernobyl, there was a sign "Avtokooperativ Lokomotiv". In the Clear Sky, the same sign reads: "Route registration".
  • The base of neutrals on the Cordon was created so thoroughly that its condition in the Shadows of Chernobyl (bare walls and a couple of stalkers) is inexplicable. The same applies to the base of Debt in the Agricultural Industry, the base of Freedom in the Dark Valley, and the base of bandits in the Landfill.
  • At the Cordon location, you can find a cache with a unique AKM-74-2 weapon. Judging by the name, the weapon assumed the use of an intermediate M43 cartridge, but in the game it uses a widespread machine gun cartridge (note that Kalashnikov samples for a cartridge of such power still existed — these are IWI Galatz and Saiga / Boar-308). Its appearance (the presence of a muzzle brake and a frame side-folding stock) also do not correspond to the name.
  • At the Agro-Industrial Research Institute, on the basis of Debt, a voice is heard calling for joining the clan. This is the voice of the bartender from the 100 X-ray bar. But there is no bartender or the Bar itself in the game.

It is no less strange that the jokes in the CHN mention a Bar and a Bartender, which is essentially an anachronism.

  • The game features several characters from the Shadows of Chernobyl. For example, a Hog is not a bandit leader, but just a bartender at a bandit base in a landfill. However, he can tell the player that he wants to create his own gang. Which he did, judging by the Shadows of Chernobyl.
  • Not far from the anomaly in the Red Forest, into which, according to the quest, you have to jump, there are corpses of stalkers. Among them is Father Valerian, who nevertheless is at the same time in a very lively state at the Cordon.
  • Among the quests related to the "Swamps" location, which can be found in the game files, you can find a quest to capture the "plant for the extraction of an abnormal substance from the bottom of the swamps." However, for some reason it is not among the list of objects in the game. But if we assume that this plant is nothing more than a "pumping station" object, then it becomes clear the purpose of not only the pumping station, but also the pipelines leading to the Agroprom Research Institute, as well as the dungeons of the Agro Industry containing a bunch of strange containers with abnormal acid. In the game, however, the authors of the game do not directly indicate this in any way.

                                                           Easter eggs

  • On the monitor screens, you can see a screenshot from FAR Manager, in which folders with models from game resources are open.
  • In Limansk, in one of the basements, you can find a time machine from the movie "Guest from the Future".
  • In the area of the Agroprom Research Institute, where the Debt group has settled, music from other GSC Game World projects is playing — Heroes of Destroyed Empires and Cossacks 2.
  • At the location of the Agroprom Research Institute, on the basis of Debt, you can find a building in which stuffed mutants of all kinds, including a stuffed cat, are located. Although the developers cut this cat out of the game. There are also chimera heads in the form of trophies hanging on the walls in the Clear Sky.

Interesting facts,Easter eggs and cut-out content of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
  • In the initial video, the main character has a tattoo "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.", but later it disappeared somewhere. Just as you can see from the video, the Marked Man is dressed in a "Dawn", but when he comes to, he is wearing a leather jacket.
  • The prototype of the multiplayer location "Rostock Factory" was a real-life factory (with the same name) located right next to the GSC office. In addition, the old office of the company was located in one of the factory buildings.
  • In all the works of the famous Finnish writer Tove Jansson, there is a Snork character.
  • Absolutely all weapons in the games "Shadow of Chernobyl", "Clear Sky" and "Call of Pripyat" have their names changed due to copyright issues.
  • At the location of Pripyat, above one of the houses (in reality, the Rainbow store) there is an inscription "1917 1986". In fact, there is no such inscription in a real city. In reality, "Glory to Lenin, Glory to the Party" is emblazoned on the roof of the building. Probably, the replacement of the inscription with the dates of the October Revolution and the Chernobyl accident was in favor of Western players.
Interesting facts,Easter eggs and cut-out content of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
  • Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (exterior of the station) — one of the first and one of the most reliable, in accordance with the real world, objects. On one of the sites, you can find out that the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant staff helped the creators of the game in creating this location.
  • At the Landfill, to the Research Institute of Agriculture, there are railway tracks going into the tunnel. But the gap between the ceiling of the tunnel and the electric locomotive standing in front of it is so small that neither the current collector nor the contact network would simply fit there.
  • In addition, the purpose of these paths is not entirely clear if there is a highway nearby. It is also unclear how all the railway equipment got on them.
  • At the location of Pripyat, you can see houses from the Soviet era that never existed on the territory of the real Pripyat. For obvious reasons, the length of the five—storey buildings does not correspond to reality either - so, when comparing the map of Pripyat from PM and from the PO, there is a clear discrepancy between the length of the alley leading to the Energetik recreation center, as well as the density of the building, which is apparently due to the limitations of the engine at the time of creation of the location.
  • Due to a flaw, the weapon falling out of the hands of a wounded NPC has zero wear.
  • In addition, the inventory of an NPC's corpse has no limit on the weight of the contents. Thus, within a single location, it is possible to circumvent the weight limit of items in the main character's inventory by simply dragging a corpse with any number of items in it.
  • The game has one "hidden" multiplayer location, which is not mentioned in any menu. This is a village of bloodsuckers from Army Depots.

Easter eggs

  • The name of the vodka in the game coincides with the name of one of the games of GSC Game World, "Cossacks". In addition, the description of the vodka says that the manufacturer is GSC, and the logo of the game itself is painted on the bottle label.
  • The description of some products says that their quality is acceptable or the shelf life has not expired. It is doubly strange to read, hearing how stalkers complain about products at every step ("And sausage and loaves have started to make crappy nowadays").
  • In a Dark Valley, in the lair of a bloodsucker, at the very end of the manhole, a smiley face is laid out from cans as an Easter egg.
  • At the Wild Territory location, in the tunnel under the bridge, you can find the corpse of Gordon Freeman, next to which in the container you can find a modification of the Black Hawk pistol for 9x39 caliber, and in Gordon's PDA you can read a lot of interesting things.

Interestingly, Freeman is not the only reference to the Half-Life game. The automatic shotgun, SPAS-12, which is one of the main weapons in Half-Life, is also found in the STALKER series of games (also without a butt).

  • If you ask Professor Kruglov to tell you about himself, he will, among other things, tell you about his discovery of the species Antropomorphus Dendromutanyus Vulgaris. This is essentially a comic "scientific" name for Pinocchio.
  • In the game, you can periodically find photos with the game developers. One of them is located in the locker room of the X-18 laboratory, the other can be found in one of the premises of the Svoboda headquarters. Another one used to be in Sidorovich's closet, but it was removed.
  • On the Radar, in one of the caches, you can find interesting contents: a bottle of vodka, a pistol and one cartridge.

Cut-out content

  • "Wolf, the factory has been cleared, we are moving to our starting positions, the end of the connection," says Petrukha. In the old versions of the Cordon, there was indeed a factory (more like a coal-fired boiler house) at about the site of the Locomotive ATP.
  • If you go straight from Sidorovich's bunker to the north, you can hear Sidorovich's warning "Hehe, you could have been in her place" and then about the flesh that got into the anomaly. Initially, the first quest in the game was to find your first artifact in a radioactive pit nearby, which is what this cut scene was intended for. The quest itself, for some reason, was cut shortly before the release, but the cut scene, again, it is unknown why, was abandoned.
  • The loading screen of the Dump is taken from a screenshot of the old version of this location, sent to journalists in 2003-2004.
  • Logos with the inscription "Will" on the basis of "Freedom" somehow do not correspond to the name of the group. But before, "Freedom" was really called "Will".

Actually, "Volya" is a hidden reference to the coat of arms of Ukraine (yes, one of the interpretations of the coat of arms reads only as the stylized word "Volya"), as well as to the events that took place in 2004 on the main square of the country. The slogan "Freedom is not spiniti" (Ukrainian), sounds in the game in Russian translation. This is confirmed by the song "Once we are bagato" in the resources of the final version of the game, which was asked not so long ago by inquisitive minds at a conference with Grigorovich.

  • A deserter soldier from a trailer on the lake on the territory of the Agro-industry says something about the "Zaporozhets", which he repaired, but which the commander took away, rode and abandoned. However, the car is not in the right place. However, in the old builds, the aforementioned car actually stood at the northern gate of the Research Institute's territory, and a quest was associated with it.
  • The description of the electra anomaly refers to the bluish fog visible above it during the day. The fact is that the description remained from the old version of "elektra" — then, in a state of rest (idle), something like a fog really hovered over the anomaly.

Interesting facts and Easter eggs in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Call of Pripyat

Interesting facts

  • In all three games, you can meet one character — this is a Nimble stalker. In the Clear Sky he is a guide, in the Shadows of Chernobyl he is a courier for Sidorovich, in the Call of Pripyat he is a dealer in exclusive equipment and weapons.
  • In the game, in addition to Nimble, you can also meet Novikov, known for the plot of the CHN and the two namesakes of the repairman of Freedom — Uncle Yar, who were in the Freedom group and the Military, respectively.
  • Sidorovich is not in the game, but he is occasionally mentioned in dialogues with stalkers. Also, a Bar is mentioned.
  • The prototype of the character Capercaillie was the cinematic character of the same name from the TV series "Capercaillie", based on the film the investigator and the captain of the militia.
  • At the location of the vicinity of Jupiter (At the Jupiter factory, in the named Arrow cache), you can find a unique weapon sample in the cache — the Sig-550 Arrow. However, as is known from the plot of the CHN, the Shooter loses his rifle, since the rifle was captured by monoliths together with the Shooter when he was hit by a powerful discharge at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant; in this regard, its presence in the Shooter's cache seems unlikely, except if the Shooter had two identical favorite rifles.
  • In the PO, the SPAS-12 shotgun has an automatic firing mode, but in real life it does not have such a firing mode in any modifications, that of the Carabinieri, that of other security services and the Italian army. The meaning of such a firing mode for such a powerful weapon without a shoulder rest is also questionable.
  • The Preobrazhensky Bridge at the Zaton location in real life has a prototype — this is a car-railway bridge (trains are traveling at the top) in Zaporozhye. The main difference is that in the game it is much narrower and shorter, and has two pipelines on top.
  • The ships "Shevchenko" and "Skadovsk" have as a prototype two real ships located in the bay of the Dnieper River, near the city of Chernobyl (not to be confused with the city of Pripyat).
  • The transformer substation at the Backwater is modeled, most likely, from a substation located near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The main difference from the original is the scale.
  • The beach on the "Emerald" (located on the Backwater) is modeled from a real beach on the territory of the Black Sea area.
  • The place on the Jupiter location "Kopachi village" no longer exists in real life — during the liquidation of the accident at the nuclear power plant, the village buildings received too large doses of radiation exposure, which, in order to preserve the health of the "self-settlers", the village was demolished and covered with earth.
  • The location of Pripyat (also known asEastern Pripyat) has the greatest similarity with the original territory of the Exclusion Zone, both in the location of objects (up to the overlay of a satellite image from GoogleMaps) and in appearance (modeled from photographs of a real city) than other locations taken earlier, with the exception of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant location.
  • Despite the fact that the transition between locations is carried out only through conductors, the transition points familiar from the previous two games are still present, only now they are inaccessible to the player, and in general, according to the developers, they were not intended for use by the player. The thing is that in the "Offline" AI mode, NPCs move along a special graph, and at the same time the graphs of individual locations must be connected to a global graph. And such a connection is carried out only through transition points. Another thing is that the location of these transition points can be any.

Bonus

  • Perhaps the name of the shotgun "Chaser-13" is a reference to the game "Chaser" (Russian: Chaser). In addition, the plot of the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." is very similar to the plot of "Chaser": the main character does not remember anything from his past and tries to find a certain person who may know something, and later wants to kill him (the latter applies only to "Chaser"). During the search, the player must work for various people against his will in order to be helped. And at the end of the game, both there and there, the main character descends into secret dungeons. Except that the end is different: in "Chaser" the main character is killed, and in "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." everything depends on the player's choice (well, or almost everything).
