4. Pohnpei (Micronesia) 344 km2 Until 1984, the state was called Ponape. It is located in the central-eastern part of the FSM on the island of Pohnpei and small coral islands

5. Perlis (Malaysia) is a 795 km2 state in Western Malaysia, in the extreme northwest of the Malacca Peninsula.

6. Penang (Malaysia) is a 1,031 km2 state in Malaysia, located on the northwestern coast of the Malacca Peninsula, in the Strait of Malacca.

10. Rhode Island (USA) is a 4002 km2 US state, part of the New England region and located on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the smallest state in the United States by area.
