The original ending
The author of Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama, stated that before the popularity of this title, he planned to end the manga with the death of all the characters, but then he abandoned this idea in favor of a slightly less gloomy ending.

Sasha's Original Death
Initially, Sasha Braus was supposed to die much earlier, namely, in the scene in which she fights a titan with a bow in her native village. However, Hajime Isayama changed his mind because the manga editor cried in the bathtub over the death of this character.

Mikasa's Scarf
Initially, in the Attack on Titan manga, Mikasa's scarf was black. But after the release of the anime adaptation in which her scarf is red, Isayama Hajime changed his mind about its color and Mikasa's red scarf became canonical.

Level 5

Oliver Pieck

Yeast Titans
There is a theory that titans are made up of yeast. It is based on the fact that yeast can easily generate a large number of cells from a single cell, just as titans can regenerate their cells. Yeast releases a large amount of heat gas during growth, which also occurs during the transformation of humans into titans. In addition, yeast is less active at night, as well as regular titans are much less active at night than during the day.

Cancelled game
Attack on Titan: Team Battle is a massively multiplayer online arcade game announced in February 2015 and developed by Capcom. The game was canceled on November 30, 2018 due to the fact that, in the opinion of the company, it did not come out of high quality and most likely would not have interested the players. According to the idea, the player had to control a hero using a controller in the form of a super-hard steel blade.

The prototype of Erwin Smith
Erwin Smith's appearance is based on a little-known actor named Matthew Hall, namely his appearance in Paris Hilton's 2008 music video Paris for President. After learning about this, Matthew Hall made a cosplay for Erwin at Halloween in 2020.

Level 6

Chapter Zero
There is a chapter zero of the Attack on Titan manga, which is the original version of the first chapter of the manga. It differs from the first chapter in that instead of three walls on Paradise, there is only one wall and it consists not of titans, but of trees, the Titans also had a vulnerable point located on their chests and people fought the Titans with fire katanas.

Gaby's Prototype

Predicting Eren's Death
In the eighth OVA episode of the anime Attack on Titan, in which Mikasa dreams of living in an alternate reality where her parents are still alive, there is a hint of Eren's death at the end of the story. In this episode, the man in the mirror mask tells Mikasa that he will turn her into a murderer, and that she will not be able to escape Eren's death. As a result, Eren dies both in this parallel reality and then at the end of the manga and anime in the main reality.

Favorite animals
The owners of the Beast Titan transform into their favorite animals. This was hinted at by children's plush toys: Zick Yeager can be seen in one of the scenes with a stuffed monkey toy, and Tom Xavier with a ram toy.

Berthold's sleeping position
Berthold sleeps in the same position as the man on the traditional tarot card called "The Hanged Man." It depicts pittura infamante, an old method of punishing traitors in Italy. This may hint that Berthold will betray the 104th Cadet Corps. It may also be a reference to the hanged man whom Berthold had met earlier.

Eren and the Devil
There is a theory that Eren is related to the devil. Firstly, the Eren's Titan has the same pointed ears as the devil, but when the owner of the Attacking Titan was Eren Kruger, he did not have such ears, the titans of all other members of the Yeager family have the same ears. Secondly, the conversation scene between Zick and Eren from season 4, episode 15, is similar in meaning and visually to the picture in which the devil and Ymir make a deal. Reiner also said in one scene that Eren is the worst candidate for the power of the Founding Titan.

Scandinavian mythology
When creating Attack on Titan, its authors were inspired by Scandinavian mythology. For example, Odin is the prototype of Hanji, since they both lost one eye for the sake of knowledge. Also, the walls of Paradise are based on the walls of Asgard. And the Hum of the Earth is an allusion to Ragnarok.

Call of Duty
The game Call of Duty: Vanguard features the skin of an Armored Titan and Levi Ackerman.

Level 3

Madagascar
Since the Attack on Titan map is an inverted map of our world, it can be argued that Paradise Island is located in the same place as Madagascar Island in real life. And this is not just a coincidence, because during the Second World War, the Germans planned to send Jews to this island, but this never happened. In the anime and manga Attack on Titan, the Ildians are an allusion to the Jews, and the Marlians are an allusion to the Germans in the 30s and 40s of the last century.

Hallucigenia
In the lore of the Attack on Titan, the power of the Titans first appeared when a certain biological being came into contact with Ymir. This creature is based on a real invertebrate genus called hallucigenia. Outwardly, they look like a worm with two rows of stilted legs and dorsal spines. They existed from 541 to 515 million years ago. Unlike the creature shown in the anime, the size of the real hallucinations did not exceed a few centimeters.

Hello everyone I'm with you again with a new post about anime this time... First of all, I want to say a big thank you to yop for the idea and have a nice read, my dears!

10th place: Sousou no Frieren (Seeing off the last Frieren)

Description: After a 10-year journey and defeating the demon king, a band of heroes returns to their native lands to part ways forever. Elf Frieren bitterly watches as her companions pass away one by one, because elves live longer than humans. She decides to embark on a new journey to find answers to her nagging questions about the meaning of life.

Anime Studio: Madhouse

Have I read the original source (manga, manhwa, etc.): no

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Himmel, Fern, Frieren

Mini review + rating: For me this is a one-time anime. It's calm but not exactly exciting. You can relax your brain while watching and relax. 7/10

9th place: Weathering with You

Description (THERE ARE SPOILERS): 16-year-old Hodaka Morishima runs away from home in Tokyo, where he immediately runs out of money. Without documents, he can't find a job, and it's raining endlessly outside, and the sky is constantly overcast. In desperation, the guy turns to a former traveling companion, who not only takes him to his magazine writing about the supernatural, but also provides housing. One day, Hodaka meets a girl named Hina Amano, who has an amazing ability to disperse clouds and stop the rain. Together, they begin to earn money by driving around the city and arranging good weather for weddings, fairs and festivals. However, they do not suspect that their constant interference in nature has serious consequences.

Anime Studio: CoMix Wave Films

Have I read the original source: there is no original source

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Nagi, Hodaka, Natsumi

Mini review + rating: at first I looked at your name from this studio. I didn't like your name at all. That's why I was initially skeptical about Weathering with You. However, I surprisingly liked this anime. 9/10

8th place: Chainsaw Man

Description: Denji has a dream — to live a peaceful and happy life, spending time with the girl he loves. However, the harsh reality in the person of a certain Yakuza forces the guy to return from heaven to earth, because he is forced to kill demons in order to pay off the immense debts of his late father. Together with his devilish pet, Pochita, whom he uses as a weapon, Denji is ready to do anything, even for a small fee.

Anime studio: MAPPA

Have I read the original source: yes, I liked it

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Aki, Himeno, Makima

Mini review + rating: The best aspect of the title for me was the directing, and more specifically, the choice of camera angles. Whether it's a battle scene, emotional or ordinary dialogue, silent everyday life or humor, the angles are expertly chosen. Unfortunately, I don't have many modern titles viewed at the moment, so I can't say yet that the camera angles and dynamics in them are the best in the industry. But I can definitely say that this is the best directing that I personally have seen in anime. Two-dimensional drawing is a masterpiece. Combined with the aforementioned camera angles and fast-paced action, it takes the battles to the top level, even if the choreography of the battles is not particularly strong. Dialogues, everyday life and humor also get a strong "buff" from the drawing, although this does not negate their high quality. 9/10

7th place: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slaying Blade)

Description: The action takes place in the Taisho era. Since ancient times, there have been rumors that humanoid demons live in the forest, which feed on humans and walk at night, looking for a new victim. But... It's just a legend, right? Tanjiro Kamado is the eldest son in the family, who lost his father and took care of his family. One day, he goes to a nearby town to sell charcoal. Returning in the morning, the guy discovers a terrible picture in front of him: all his relatives were brutally murdered, and the only survivor is Nezuko, a younger sister who has turned into a demon, but has not yet lost all humanity. From this moment on, a long and dangerous journey begins for Tanjiro and Nezuko, in which the boy intends to find the killer and find out a way to heal his sister. But are the children able to overcome all difficulties and return home?

Anime studio: ufotable

Have I read the original source: no

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Gia, Zenica, Nezuko

Mini review + rating: After watching this title, to be honest, I was not satisfied with what I expected at the beginning of viewing, or rather the vibe that I would like. To be honest, I wanted to finish this anime already on season 3, but I didn't stop just because of my favorite... 9/10

6th place: Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack of the Titans)

Description: Since ancient times, mankind has been fighting the Titans. Titans are huge creatures, the size of a multi—storey building, which do not have much intelligence, but their strength is simply terrible. They eat people and enjoy it. After a long struggle, the remnants of humanity have created a wall surrounding the human world, through which even the Titans will not pass. A hundred years have passed since then. Humanity lives peacefully under the protection of the wall. But one day, the boy Eren and his adopted sister Mikasa witness a terrible event.: A section of the wall was destroyed by a supertitan that appeared out of thin air. The Titans attack the city, and the two children are horrified to see their mother being eaten alive by one of the monsters. The brother and sister survive, and Eren swears that he will kill all the titans and avenge all of humanity!

Anime Studio: Wit Studio

Have I read the original source: no

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Eren, Annie, Levi

Mini review + rating: I really love "Attack of the Titans" - in terms of form, presentation and execution, as well as, to a large extent, semantic, in fact, axiological content, this work is an outstanding representative of such an art direction as anime. In general, anime, in all its diversity and unity, is a real cultural phenomenon. Having originated as a cheap Japanese animation in post-war Japan, having been influenced by Western animation at that time, primarily Disney products, anime was undergoing a stage of development from just Japanese animation into a qualitatively new art direction, with its own special presentation and content. Reflecting the social consciousness of the Japanese people and their creative heritage, anime subsequently became a convenient vessel into which to pour not only hackneyed and rather primitive plots for teenagers, as in the senen genre, but also something more serious, while remaining attractive, dynamic, vibrant art direction, and therefore democratic. It was the combination of highly variable and sometimes profoundly animating content that went beyond the hackneyed, overstuffed templates for the global audience, along with a brilliant, albeit sometimes ascetic form in terms of execution, that allowed Japanese animation to win the minds and hearts of many people outside Japan, including the author of these lines. 9/10

5th place: Bungou Stray Dogs

Description: Atsushi Nakajima was kicked out of an orphanage. Having lost a roof over his head and exhausted from hunger, the young man, however, did not lose the will to live and even found the strength to get up from a prone position. In a fit of unbridled anger, mixed with bitter resentment, he decided that the only way to survive was robbery in broad daylight. Fortunately, there was a road near the river, where Atsushi had been ready to die a few minutes ago. All that remains is to lie low and wait. Plop. What's it? Someone's feet are sticking out of the water. A gurgle. The "rescuer" mode is activated! And so, instantly forgetting about the robbery of tired travelers and caravans, Atsushi rushes into the river to rescue the unlucky "float". Which turns out to be a young man unhappy that his bizarre suicide attempt was thwarted. Later, a puzzled Atsushi learns that the drowned man's name is Osamu Dazai, and that he works for a special "Armed Detective Agency" whose staff detectives have supernatural abilities. When the police and military are powerless, they turn to them. This time, Osama and his partner will have to hunt a dangerous beast that terrorizes the neighborhood. And somehow it so happened that it was this beast that caused Atsushi's exile...

Top 3 of my favorite characters: Dazai, Chuya, Po

Mini review + rating: Famous writers from all over the world are fighting with their works... I've always loved senen and literature. 9/10

4th place: the silent voice

Description: The story revolves around Sei Ishida, a school bully. When he was in elementary school, he and his friends bullied a deaf classmate, Shoko Nishimiya. When the adults found out about it, the children shifted all the blame onto the hero.

Anime studio: Kyoto Animation

Have I read the original source: yes. It's like a bomb, but worse than anime (

Top 3 of my Favorite Characters: Shoko Nishimiya, Shoya Ishida, Tomohiro Nagatsuka

Mini review and rating: very cool anime! I didn't put my hopes on it, but it's the best full-length anime I've seen. I cried almost all the time because I feel very sorry for people. 10/10

3rd place: Death Note

Description: The main character is Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a mysterious notebook — the "Death Note". Inside the notebook there are instructions for use: "The person whose name will be written in the notebook will die." The two prerequisites for murder are to know the person by sight and spell his name correctly.

Anime studio: Madhouse

Have I read the original source: no

Top 3 of my favorite characters: L Lawlight, Misa Amane, Ryuk

Mini review and rating: The best detective anime. The exciting atmosphere of the story; a tense plot full of philosophical questions and moral choices; detailed emotions of the characters, interesting dialogues and unexpected turns of events. 10/10

2nd place: One piece

Description: Gol D. Roger, the pirate king who has achieved wealth, fame and power, has hidden somewhere in the vastness of this world a mysterious treasure that everyone calls Van Pease. After Roger's death, many brave souls rushed in search of this big prize, and the great era of pirates began. So a kid named Luffy from a small coastal village dreams of becoming a pirate. Even as a child, he inadvertently ate the devilish rubber-rubber fruit and acquired incredible abilities. As an adult, he leaves his native land in pursuit of the greatest treasure.

Top 3 of My Favorite Characters: Portgas D. Ace, Nico Robin, Vinsmoke Sanji
