Hello everyone Most recently, on December 26, 2024, the sequel to the legendary, or maybe not so much, series "The Squid Game 2" was released on the Netflix platform. In this post, we will analyze the series "on the shelves" to find out whether it is worth watching or not. Have fun reading! P.S. there are a lot of spoilers.

First, I will briefly (or not very) retell the plot:In the finale of the first season, loser Song Ki-hoon (player 456) emerged victorious from the survival games, but was left traumatized by numerous deaths, including the death of his best friend in the last challenge. And policeman Hwang Joon-ho, in search of his missing brother In-ho, penetrated the ranks of guards in pink suits and got shot by the Presenter — it turned out that the one he had been looking for was hiding under the mask.
Three years later, their lives didn't get any better. Ki-hoon, who lost his mother, spends his winnings of 45.6 billion won to find the organizers of the games. He buys weapons, organizes a shooting range in the hotel he bought, and hires his former creditor, Mr. Kim, to assemble a team to find a recruiter on all subway lines. The storyline of Hwang Joon-ho unfolds in parallel. After a lucky escape, the ex-cop comes out of his coma, but no one believes his stories about an island where the rich pit the poor against each other. He becomes a highway patrolman, and in his spare time he sails the Yellow Sea in the hope of getting back on the trail of the villains.
The fates of the heroes randomly intertwine, and they decide to join forces. Ki-hoon goes back to the game to try to undermine the system from the inside, while Joon-ho, accompanied by bandits and special forces, searches for the island where ex-player number 456 was taken.
In the process, all this is told about the "life" on the island in the Squid Game. Of course, new members appear there, who soon fell in love with the audience (in my opinion, all but 100 players are incredible). The audience, along with the players, experience the loss of their favorites game by game. The frontman decides to play with everyone and becomes VIP player 001. At the end of the season, Ki-hoon and his team decide to stage a rebellion against the administration, which turns out to be not a very good idea.

I will express my opinion:
As for me, the second part of the series came out a little worse than the first: I was especially disappointed with the finale, which turned out to be "ragged". All the actors played their roles very well, I especially liked the 380 and 120 player game. This June, season 3 is expected, which is a direct sequel to the second, and I'm really looking forward to it. I still want to understand why Ki-hoon was left alive and his friend, player 390, was killed.
I immediately apologize to the super-strict critics for such a terrible analysis, what can I do? And I want to say thank you to the rest for reading to the end)

the second season is not really bad. it's just that there's nothing to make a sequel out of. according to the original idea there shouldn't have been a sequel. but because of the hype it had to be done haphazardly.

I agree, but for me the first season seems more atmospheric and more fascinating. Well, let's wait for the third season.

Season 2 isn't so awful for me. What about ripped ending, it was intentionally planned that way. Season 3 and 2 as one big season, just split into twos
