On October 27, a film based on the horror video game "Five Night At Freddy's" was released. The player controls the night guard at the Freddy Fazbear pizzeria. The pizzeria is distinguished by the fact that it has animatronic robots, there are 4 of them in total - Freddy bear, Bonnie rabbit, chicken Chick, Fox Foxy. There is also a hallucination in the game - golden Freddy. These robots are needed to entertain children. Animatronics also like to walk at night, they try to stuff a guard into a Freddy costume.
This video game was created by only one person in 2014 - Scott Cauthon. About 10 games from this franchise have been released.
And only this year (10 years after the creation of the game) a movie about this pizzeria was released. For filming, they created real animatronics, as well as costumes for actors resembling the aforementioned robots.
It seems to me that the film is average, that is, not very beautiful. I liked the scenery, animatronics, etc.
Only the plot is highly predictable. I think from the middle of the film you can understand how it will end. It's not exactly a scary horror, there are almost no screamers, it doesn't scare at all. Most likely, this movie is aimed at children or teenagers. This film has been waiting for almost 10 years.
The plot is too simple and does not correspond well to the story from the game. If in the game the younger brother of the guard died after falling into the mouth of an animatronic, then here he is simply kidnapped in nature. I expected that his soul was in Freddie, and there would be a family reunion, but this did not happen, it is not clear where his soul went. The main character blames himself for not being able to save his brother. There is also no phone guy in the film, but there is a Balloon Boy from FNAF 2. The decorations do not repeat the game in too much detail, for example, the doors are completely different, and the drawings too. The film very often featured the soul in Freddie, the rest faded into the background, they just didn't get enough attention. Also, animatronics hardly fought with the The main character named Mike Schmit and his backstory are well revealed. A handsome actor has been selected for the role. I want to empathize with him. I also liked his relationship with the officer-Vanessa, his sister, the souls of the children, etc.
In principle, the film turned out to be average, that is, not bad and not wonderful. I hope if there are sequels, they will be better. Because there are hints of them. For example, the souls of children never rested. It was also disappointing that the creator of the games, Scott Cawton, did not play any role.
