A genre of computer games with a first-person or third-person view in which the player takes part in a racing competition among land, water, air or space vehicles. The basis of these competitions may be some real-life racing series, or they may take place in completely fictional settings. In general, a racing game can be a computer game of any genre: from high-realism car simulators to relatively simple arcade racing games. Racing games can also belong to the category of sports games.

Dean is one of the main genres of computer games in which the player needs to use strategic thinking to win. In popular games of this genre, the player is often invited to play not for a specific character, but for their conditional masses, for example, to lead the construction of a city or command entire armies in military campaigns. Although many other genres of games may contain strategic elements, strategy games themselves focus on top-level planning, logistics, and resource management. Strategies are usually divided into two main subcategories: turn-based and real-time, but there are also a number of cross/subgenres of strategies that contain additional elements such as tactics, diplomacy, economics and research.

a genre of computer games simulating hand-to-hand combat of a small number of characters within a limited space called an arena (a part of the game universe not controlled by a participant in the game, where the main actions of the game take place). Fighting games are close to "Beat 'em up" genre games, but there are differences between them. So, in most fighting games, the player does not need to move through a long level and cannot go beyond the boundaries of the arena, and the battle consists of an odd number of separate rounds and is not continuous. Less significant and not necessarily present features of the genre are the use of numerous scales to depict vital signs of characters and the drawing of fighters in the arena in profile.

A genre of computer games designed to carefully simulate real-world activities. The simulator tries to copy various actions from real life for various purposes such as training, analysis, forecasting or entertainment. Usually there are no strictly defined goals in the game, the player is allowed to freely control the character or the environment. Well-known examples are war games, business games, and a role-playing game simulator. The three main types of strategic, planning, and training exercises are games, simulations, and case studies; a number of hybrids can be considered, including simulations that are used as case studies. Many researchers have compared the benefits of simulators with other learning methods, and a number of comprehensive reviews have been published.

a genre of computer games, a kind of life simulators in which the main goal of the player is to save the life of a virtual character against the background of many dangers threatening him. Elements of survival are found in almost all computer games, but in survival simulators this task is brought to the fore and is the main one in the game. The broad definition of the genre allows you to include many games in the genres of roguelike, survival horror, even some computer role-playing games such as Dark Souls
