Greetings, dear readers! I want to tell you about Crostenwing, the world I invented. This world reflects the gap between ambition and harsh reality. Let's get started!
To begin with, here is a world map and a nature map.

World map
The climate of this world is warm and temperate, with rare winters outside the north. A special feature is the mild conditions of difficult climatic zones such as swamps and jungles. The swamps here are not viscous, but they are wet and much more habitable than the real ones. The jungle remains moist, warm and overgrown, but it is also much easier to survive. It's cool in the north, and the savannahs are warm.
A unique natural area is the crystalline lands, where blue, blue and turquoise shades prevail. There are many ores in these lands: gold, stone, iron and the rarest mythreal, which we will talk about later! Here, by cutting down a tree, you can get not only firewood, but also gold or stone. Everything is sparkling and impressive. But there is danger behind this splendor... ice demons and swords. The crystalline lands eventually disappeared from the world, giving way to savannahs and plains. This was due to the disappearance of chrysalis in the world. They were the ones who spread the crystalline dust, but with their disappearance, there was no one to spread it.
Crystal demons are dangerous creatures that live in the crystal lands and only rarely appear outside them. They are tall, slender, blue, and incredibly strong. Some of them destroyed thousands of creatures. They experienced their heyday before the appearance and expansion of humans. With the rise of the human state, their power began to wane
Crystal swords are flying blades known for their lethality. Although they are not as strong as crystal demons, their speed allows them to eliminate enemies much faster. However, not having the same power as the demons, they disappeared much earlier.

Crystal Lands
Both subspecies of chrysalis (this is the name of the species) are directly subordinate to the Crystal Lord, a slender, huge, incredibly intelligent and powerful crystal demon. However, he himself showed no direct interest in Crostenwing. Having conquered thousands of worlds, he is considered the greatest personality in the universe, having given birth to many species inspired by him, such as Candy Demons created by his nephew, Candy Lord, and many others.
Let's move on to magic! There is practically no such thing in the world - it manifests itself only in rare mystical elements, such as crystal or mythreal.
Let's delve into the history of the world, namely the history of mankind!
Humans appeared about 200 years after the creation of the world in the western savannahs, having evolved from monkeys. Around the year 220, they moved to the southern flat coast under the leadership of the chief of Manederia. However, during a severe fire, weakened, they were forced to flee to the nearby marshes, where they decided to stay forever.

People build the first settlement in 220
The settlement of Mandaus was founded in the marshes, where the chieftainess Manederia took steps to strengthen her power. She created a militia to protect the tribe, proclaimed herself a deity to strengthen the cult of personality, and established a council of elders for better governance. Manederia ruled until 245, when a pack of wolves attacked the settlement, destroying half of the population. The chieftainess heroically defended the people, but was killed by the pack leader, who was then torn to pieces by the inhabitants. Their bodies were burned for all to see. All the wolves were subsequently killed, except for one, which escaped.
Legend has it that the flame of the campfire turned red, which greatly frightened people. That night, 12 more children disappeared, whose bodies were later found near the cave of wolves. The skeleton of a large wolf was discovered inside the cave, which gave rise to rumors that it was not the real leader who was killed, but the one who managed to escape was the real leader...

The battle with the wolves
After Manederia's death, her son Astenkhon became the leader and ruled until 272. During his reign, he carried out many reforms: he created a system of basic education, unified agriculture, founded a standing army, introduced an administrative system and introduced the institution of counts — leaders of settlements. Two new settlements appeared under him: Medenkhon in 259 and Aurov in 265. Mandaus officially became the main city and actually the capital.
Aurovo became a fortress city due to the inability to engage in agriculture, inconvenient location and a large amount of stone around; the first stone wall was built there and the first military school was established. Madenkhon became an economic center: fishing was invented in it, the climate was suitable for agriculture, and there was a lot of wood and iron around.
In 270, Kastalin Bonung was born there, one of the great inventors who created a large ship that gave impetus to the development of fishing. In addition, he became the first great merchant to use ships to quickly transport goods between cities. Mandaus did not lag behind and turned into a cultural and political center. All the key decisions were made there, and it became the link between the settlements. Culture flourished in the city, roads were built, statues were erected, and the government of the future kingdom was formed.

Castalin Bonung
But not everything was so smooth. As early as 265, Astenkhon began to lose influence and, growing older, actually became a puppet of the council of elders. Sensing the approach of death, a fierce struggle for inheritance broke out in 267. Astenkhon had no children, and his young nephew Teklias, the council of elders, and the general of the first Mandau army, Modengard Ephesus, fought for power. All other relatives were destroyed by the applicants. In 272, a month before Astenkhon's death, Teklias killed the head of the council of elders, and Modengard was accused of conspiracy and executed by drowning. Having won the multi-year inheritance war, Teclias officially took over all power. Ephesus was nicknamed the Drowned Guardian, and Teklias was popularly whispered as the Drowner.
Immediately after coming to power, Teklias declares himself king and his tribe a kingdom. From this moment, the history of the Mandau Kingdom begins... Teklias ruled until 334, having carried out many reforms during his reign. He founded the institutions of power and governance, expanded the territory of the state and is rightfully considered one of the greatest rulers in history. The beginning of his reign was marked by a transition from tribal to monarchical government, and Mandaus became a full-fledged capital and center of power.
By nature, Teclias was cruel, fair, and ambitious. His beauty was amazing, and many considered him a real handsome man and a romantic. He grew up in poverty, but thanks to his intelligence, he was able to get into contention for power and eventually won.
During his reign, the state expanded significantly, and the entire south became part of the kingdom. Numerous cities were founded: Utevina, Arbales, Tecliatant, Kamerton, Vialburg, Isailes and Jualivan. The greatest prosperity was achieved by Jualivan, which became a successful shopping center. However, the biggest difficulties arose with Utevina, but this will be discussed later. Arbales was founded in 279, Utevina in 282, Tecliatant in 284, Tuning Fork in 289, Isailes in 299, Vialburg in 308, and Jualiwan in 329.
In 290, Clovis Vaalas came to countship in Utevin, who was very dissatisfied with the royal power. The desire for freedom was supported by the people of the city. In 300, an uprising took place, which was suppressed, and Clovis was crucified on a huge tree. But the desire for freedom did not fade, and Utevina became a stronghold of the struggle for independence. The kingdom will prosper, and the people will live relatively well. However, there is a question behind all this — Teklias is not eternal, and we need to think about the future. In 334, he will die by smashing his head on a stone, slipping in a puddle. His son Clovih will come to power...
Klovichus would not become a great reformer like his father, but under him the state would expand significantly. He will rule until 372 and will die by suicide (drowning). According to legend, Modengard Ephesus, a general whose army was drowned by his father, would come to him at night and force Klovik to drown himself, which would disgrace the entire dynasty. The father drowned by force, and the son drowned himself. After his death, the whole family will be arrested and hanged on a pole in Utevin... This will be the end of the classical era of human history. Many cities were founded under him, and the whole world finally became part of the kingdom: in 340, Kesarland, in 343 — Vilenmord, in 350 — Chlodeas, in 351 — Mideron, in 353 — Molgran, in 358 — Gamerhon, in 360 — Bilen, in 363 — Cantonberg, in 364 — Kantaurus, in 365 — Ceresas, in 368 — Bonungar, in 369 — Polyder.
In 362, the Utevin People's uprising took place under the leadership of Count Gracchus Bainer, an honest, kind, wise and brave man who advocated equality and freedom. After the peaceful protest was dispersed and he was removed from office, he led an armed uprising. Almost two years of war have led to destruction and brutality on the part of the crown. In 364, the uprising was suppressed, and Gracchus himself, along with his advisers and commanders, were executed by hanging from the wall of the town hall and shooting his arms and legs with an arrow. Gracchus suffered for almost two days before he passed away.
At night, the crown's army locked the residents in their houses and set fire to the city, which burned to the ground, leaving ruins. The city could not recover for decades... At the same time, the crown is mired in corruption. There was another crisis — many people moved from the old cities to the new ones. They lived without shelter, food and normal conditions. And the old towns suffered from a shortage of workers. Despite this, trade and the economy flourished. Clovih abolished his father's cruel laws, and life became quite prosperous even for the poor.
We are smoothly approaching the end of his reign! In 369, Clovis will go mad. He will grant all cities autonomy, but will soon change his mind and try to regain power by force. He will begin to threaten the earls, saying that he will burn and hang them if they do not return under the strict control of the crown. However, all the counts will refuse, declare independence and start fighting with each other. Klovikh's military campaigns would fail, and in 372 he committed suicide by drowning himself.
After Klovih's suicide, the kingdom collapsed, ending the old period of peace. The great civil war began, and all the states began to constantly fight. The first republic was proclaimed in Manduas, and a semblance of a parliament (the Mandau Duma) and a president (the Chancellor) was created.
Most cities turned into kingdoms, but there are exceptions: Utevina and Mandaus became republics, Aurovo and Gamerkhon became military dictatorships, Medenkhon, Jualiwan and Bonungar became oligarchic republics, and Molgran and Vialburg became theocracies. In 383, Miten Maklon, a tyrannical but brilliant military strategist, came to power in Gamerkhon, and his power began to grow rapidly and conquer. In 374, the Republic of Mandalusia fell and the kingdom was proclaimed, followed by the second republic.
In 382, General Stener Modai overthrew the republic, proclaimed the kingdom and himself king. He ruled until 476, lived for more than 120 years and became a legend during his lifetime. In response to the threat from Gamerchon, he captured several surrounding towns, and then convened the Tekliatan Peace Conference in the city of Tekliatan. There, Gamericho and Mandalusia concluded a peace agreement in 399, establishing a new world order.
But that's not all, there are centuries of the history of the world ahead, which I'll tell you about in the next part. to be continued...
